Training Future GPs at Corriest Medical Clinic

At Corriest Medical Clinic, we are proud to be accredited to deliver the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program in collaboration with General Practice Training Queensland (GPTQ). Our commitment to advancing the field of General Practice is reflected in our ongoing efforts to train the doctors of tomorrow.

What is a GP Registrar?
A GP Registrar is a fully qualified medical doctor who is undergoing advanced training to specialize in General Practice. This training is essential for doctors to become specialist GPs, similar to how physicians train in other specialties such as orthopaedics or cardiology. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners mandates this vocational training program as the primary pathway to becoming a specialist GP.

Training and Supervision
GP Registrars at our clinic are placed on 6-month rotations where they are supervised and guided by our experienced GPs. These registrars are highly trained and bring the latest medical knowledge, passion, and dedication to their roles.

Our Role in the AGPT Program
By participating in the AGPT program, we contribute to the professional development of future GPs, ensuring that they are well-prepared to provide high-quality care to the community. Our clinic is dedicated to fostering the next generation of General Practitioners through hands-on experience and expert mentorship.
